The last EuroMagnetII User Meeting

participants of the Euromagnet User Meeting 2012

The 2012 EuroMagNetII User Meeting took place in Grenoble on June 13 and 14. This was the opportunity for the users of the magnet installations in Toulouse, Nijmegen, Dresden and Grenoble to meet and discuss their experiments and scientific results.

Below, you find a picture gallery and presentations.

A reception cocktail was proposed on the 13th. , on the same day as the encounter between Germany and the Netherlands in the European Football Championship, which caught everyone’s attention after dinner!

On the next morning,  users presented their scientific experiments performed at the different magnet facilities. The directors of HLD, HFML and LNCMI presented the European Magnetic Field Laboratory (EMFL), which will be the follow-up of the EuroMagNetII FP7 Integrating Activity as of 2013. The directors emphasized the supportive role that the users will have to play for the challenging years to come. Every network or possibility should be exploited to give as much support to the EMFL as possible, to be able to continue hosting as many users from all over Europe as today.

A visit of the lab was organized at the same time as the User Committee meeting, before presentations dealing with “what could be done technically in EMFL laboratories”. The User Meeting ended with a dinner at the Bastille, the occasion to have a friendly and informal moment facing a beautiful landscape. The last EuroMagNetII User Meeting is over, but everyone awaits eagerly the first EMFL User Meeting!
